The Manser Medal

The Manser Medal

The Manser Medal is now presented annually in association with the Sunday Times British Homes Awards, with the winner receiving a £5,000 prize fund.

This year’s short-list of six schemes was selected from designs that were highly commended within the three British Homes Awards’ categories for a best One-Off House or Extension:

  • up to 2,500 sq ft
  • between 2,500 and 5,000 sq ft and
  • above 5,000 sq ft

and were visited by the eminent judging panel:

  • Michael’s son Jonathan Manser, managing director of The Manser Practice
  • Luke Tozer, director of Pitman Tozer Architects, a Manser Medal winner with Gap House in 2010 and
  • Lynne Sullivan, Chair of the Good Homes Alliance, Chair RIBA Sustainable Futures, architect and regional and national design review panel member

The stunning classic modernist Outhouse, designed by Loyn & Co Architects, was their choice and a worthy winner of the 2016 Medal.
